The Runner

Through the night, through the dawn
Behind you, another runner is born
Don't look back, you've been there
Feel the mist as your breath hits the air
And it's underneath the moonlight
Passing some
Still your heart beats in the moonlight
Like a drum
And you will run your time
A shooting star across the sky
And you will surely cross the line
To pass on the flame
Sun come up, sun go down
Hear the feet, see the sweat on the ground
Watch your step, keep your cool
Though you can't see what's in front of you
And it's underneath the moonlight
Passing some
Still your heart beats in the moonlight
Like a drum
And you will run your time
A shooting star across the sky
And you will surely cross the line
To pass on the flame
Cause you're a runner in a race
Taking someone's place who's run
You're a runner in a race
And the only way it's won
Is to pass on the flame
And you will run your time
A shooting star across the sky
And you will surely cross the line
To pass on the flame
(Pass on the flame)
To pass on the flame
(Pass on the flame)
This one is for Zombieslayer.
Hope your day was good, world? Still cool here. Rained alllll day. Took me over 3 hours yesterday to go through all the emails (jokes) and sorry if I sent out duplicates. Hard to tell using 'g' mail.
Today I spent looking for an art store that was open to get stuff to put up on the new walls. Walked all over hell's half acre, and found one or two open, only one of which was not a gazillion-dollar store. Not a dump either, found some stuff that was OK and it just happened to be on sale (bonus)! Took in some of the stuff from the old office and lugged it all into the new one. Since the new place doesn't have cleaners, polished the furniture (no I am not kidding). Was going to take in the TY cat that M gave me for my birthday last year and the painting of a parrot that Issy did, but decided that I"d like to see them at home, since they are 'home'/close to my heart things.
Ran into the kinda witchy person while I was art-shopping. She was very nice. That's what manipulative folks do. It makes my skin go funny, but since I"m basically nice, it was enjoyable. Turns out her husband is a millionaire (she didn't tell me that, everyone else did). Boy in that position I'd be living on a beach somewhere. Oh well, to each his/her own.
Didn't get a heck of a lot else done--the rain is wreaking havoc on the old bod, even loaded up with naproxen.
Hope S is OK. G-man was driving him nuts lately. Miss the old crowd like crazy but don't miss the stupid stuff. Unfortunately ALL the stupid stuff involved management, and that's pretty damn hard to ignore. Better off here!! Am feeling much better (ha! she laughs, except my damn legs!) in the new place. Haven't had to use nitroglycerine even once. Pretty cool.
Oh yah one more notable thing: SNOW!! It was mixed with the rain this morning. Dirty pool, you weather guys. It isn't even NOVEMBER!! Snow should be illegal before Christmas Eve (just a thought)....Raven have you had snow in Colorado? Bet you have.
Doris must have met Peggy by now in Newfoundland. Hope they're having a good time (and no snow)!
Hope YOU all are having a good time, and are bundled up safe and warm. Have lovely dreams...and an even better week ahead.
MWAH!
Bridg

Ahh...fall in the Big O. I would never have dreamed you'd have snow before me, here in the mountains.

We've had a couple of snows like that too. No accumulation yet. I just hope that we don't get the ice storms like we had last winter!

I agree with you, Tshsmom. the year we lived in Virginia, it was great. Snowed on Christmas eve and the grass stuck up through it.
Juuuust perfect!!
