Music by Elton John and Davey Johnstone
Lyrics by Bernie Taupin
Don't wish it away
Don't look at it like it's forever
Between you and me
I could honestly say
That things can only get better
And while I'm away
Dust out the demons inside
And it won't be long
before you and me run
To the place in our hearts where we hide
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Time on my hands could be time spent with you
Laughing like children, living like lovers
Rolling like thunder, under the covers
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Just stare into space
Picture my face in your hands
Live for each second without hesitation
And never forget I'm your man
Wait on me girl
Cry in the night if it helps
But more than ever
I simply love you
More than I love life itself
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Time on my hands could be time spent with you
Laughing like children, living like lovers
Rolling like thunder, under the covers
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Wait on me girl
Cry in the night if it helps
But more than ever
I simply love you
More than I love life itself
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Time on my hands could be time spent with you
Laughing like children, living like lovers
Rolling like thunder, under the covers
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
(laughing like children, living like lovers)
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
(laughing like children, living like lovers)
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Not much going on here, world. Have a touch of writers' block, and it's one of those cool October nights when the world's really truly fast asleep, hushed in its own dreams of summers past and days to come. Even the nightbirds are silent. It's a blues night, not in terms of rain, fog, or feeling down. Just hush and quiet...so thick it wraps around you like a child's blanket.
Rather than disturb their slumbers...and having run bone dry in the brain....tonight I'll leave you with the words (above) that I wish I could share with M.
Enjoy!
love, Bridg

That read more as a lullaby than blockage.

I love that song! I understand about the writers block thing. I haven't written any poetry in quite a while.

Snavylyn (and everyone), how do you get past a block? Is there any tried and true remedy or is it different for each of us?
